In Sweden, unit costs for silviculture in large-scale forestry decreased by 20 percent in 2013 compared to the year before. Of all included costs, the costs for sowing, costs for beeting and forest fertilization and liming decreased the most. Also costs for maintenance and new investments in forest roads decreased. Cost per hectare did not decrease correspondingly.

In average logging costs for thinning and regeneration felling decreased in the entire country. In Svealand region however, the logging costs increased for regeneration felling.

The result is based on the joint survey of Swedish Forest Agency and Skogforsk to large-scale forestry.
