Largest pellet plant in the Baltic region to be build in Estonia

OÜ Osula Graanul, the subsidiary of AS Graanul Invest, is beginning the construction of the largest pellet plant in the Baltic countries in Võrumaa, Sõmerpalu county, the company announced in a press release.

The new plant has production capacity around 250,000 tons of pellets per year. Plant’s equipment enables to use various types of wood (firewood and pulpwood, woodchips, sawdust and shavings) at the annual rate of 600 000 solid cubic meters, which will provide wood processors and forest owners of South – Estonia chance to utilize their production residues and low quality round wood  to the local producer all year around. 

The plant is expected to start test production in the end of 2014. It is Graanul Invest Group’s seventh pellet factory which will increase the Group’s production capacity to over one million tons annually.
