The German producer price indices for oak recorded mostly a rise in February 2023. On average, the index for log wood increased by 4,0% to 149,1 points. A grades reached 106,8 (+10% compared to May 2022 – the last availible comparison). B qualities reached the level of 159,7 points ( 7,0% ), to which 3 m lengths contributed with 7,5% to 149,2 points – and 5 m lengths with 2,2% to 191,8 .
C qualities in February reached 157,5 points ( 2,9% ) – in 3 m lengths 164,1 ( 2,8% ). 5 m lengths reached 165,4 points ( 1,9% ).
For oak pulpwood Destatis calculated an index of 115,4 points ( 0,5% ). Pulpwood of beech reached 130,1 points ( 8,4% ). The hardwood pulpwood index arrived at 127,9 points ( 7,3% ).
