Finland: wood imports decreased by 11% in Jan-Nov 2017

Finland’s wood imports totalled 0.61 million cubic metres in November 2017. This was the weakest monthly result of 2017 with it being 21% smaller than in November 2016, says Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) in its statistics report.

In January-November the Finnish wood imports totalled 8.07 million cubic metres. Thus, wood imports in Finland decreased by 11% year-on-year.

The total value of the Finnish forest industry products exported in November 2017 totalled EUR 1.08 billion. It was the best monthly result of 2017. 

The real export value in January-November totalled EUR 11.01 billion (deflated using whole sale price index, 1949=100).
