In the first half of 2014, felling in Norway totaled 5.15 million . This represents a 9.3 percent increase over the same period last year. Favourable timber prices is the main reason for the high removal rate, says the Norwegian Agricultural Agency. Gross income from timber sales in the first half of the year was NOK 1.78 billion (≈ €212,7 million), up by 23.6 percent compared to the first half of 2013.
