In March, the German producer price index for wood products is relatively stable as compared to February. Only boards and battens have a significantly higher value than in February. Pellets and wood chips are much cheaper. Otherwise, there are only slight changes from the February levels.
Compared to the previous year's figures, however, almost all products are more expensive. Exceptions are boards, beech blocks and HDH panels. Hardwood products and timber materials lie altogether only scarcely over prior year level. Exception here are raw chip boards, which come from a very low level, and therefore gained a stronger increase.
The highest price surge was registered among battens, wide boards, pellets and KVH.
