The German wood products price index registered some mixed developments in September. Except lumber and reserve square timber, all sawn timber assortments lost ground compared to August. The sharpest decline was recorded in KVH price, which had declined both as compared to August, as well as compared to September 2013.

A positive price trend can be noticed in the hardwood area. In particular, hardwood lumber and beech frames were up considerably.

In wood materials, raw particle boards price increased slightly over August, and almost 15% against September 2013. The price of laminated particle boards also surged and managed to offset the August decline. Pellets again show an upward trend, however, chips still remain at a low level.
