On September 4-6, 2008, the forest grounds near Tuchola (Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship) will be hosting the 11th Fair of Forest Management, Wood Industry and Environmental Protection "EKO-LAS," organized by the Bydgoszcz Fair SAWO in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Toruń and the Association of Forest Entrepreneurs. “Eko-Las” is the largest and the only fair event in this industry organized in the country and entirely in forest. This year’s edition looks like another success, since the ordered exhibition area has already exceeded the area from the previous year. Next to domestic participants, the fair will be also hosting exhibitors from Germany, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Holland, and the Czech Republic.
Forest grounds will also have special exhibition stands for presentation of machine and equipment operation, showing harvesters and forwarders, plows, milling cutters, hoisting winches, shredders, wood splitting machines, trailers for logging and transport of wood, machines for milling trunk timber, nursery machines, mobile band saws, nets, forest tools, as well as tractors, special vehicles, off-road vehicles, and many other machines. The offer of our indoor exhibitors includes uniforms, footwear and clothing, forest equipment and tools, tools for the wood industry, forest road construction technology, computer and measurement systems, and trade publications, as well as presentation of the State Forests and an economic-tourist offer of the region of the Tuchola Forest. In addition, on September 4, 2008 at 1 p.m., the fairgrounds will be hosting a scientific-technical conference "Safety at work during timber harvesting using logging machinery," organized by the Work Environment Engineering Department of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań.
The program of other fair events will feature many sports activities. On September 5 at 10 a.m. there will be a lumberjack show with participation of our national team that will be representing Poland at this year’s championships in Germany. Contestants will take part in the following competitions: saw assembly, double buck, pruning, and axe chopping.
